Today we are bringing you interview with inspirational Jordyn Parsley. Student and full time parent. She talks about her WHY and we are so happy for her that she found her path to health and balance fitness lifestyle
Full Name: Jordyn Parsley
Age: 23
Federation: UKBFF ( past) and PCA
Coach: Zulmira Woodrow
Where are you from:
Gorleston, Norfolk.
What is your occupation/work? Student and full time parent!
When did you start to compete and WHY? January 2019, after struggling with a eating disorder for many years I decided to get myself sorted and using food and training in a positive light instead of using it to damage my body! And I fell In love with the sport!
Have you done any other sports before? I used to compete in karate as a child and also participated in boxing too!
What was the reaction of your friends and family when you decided to compete? They had mixed emotions about me competing, they’d never known anyone who’d competed before and was worried about the physical and mental effect it would have on me!
Do you remember your first time on stage? Yes! I was so nervous but also so excited! I loved meeting all the girls and like minded people!
What changed since? I still love it just as much if not more! I’ve realised that I don’t need to impress anyone only myself and I’m now doing something I love because I want to do it!
Which did you competition you enjoy the most and why? I loved my last show with pca, I loved looking back on my transformation and I loved my whole overall look! Down to the bikini and hair and makeup!
What was / is your biggest success on stage or in personal life? My biggest success is being happy! Making my family happy and doing my son proud! Studying a hons degree as well as competing and running a home is such a great achievement for me!
What do you think girls should know before they will hit the competition stage? They should know that it’s extremely difficult! It isn’t something you should do if you’re not mentally prepared for the hard work and dedication! They need to know that the sport is subjective and just because you may not come first doesn’t mean you’re not a winner! Post show is also not spoken about and I actually found the lack of structure and no end goal really challenging!
Who is your bikini idol? I have lots! But the 2bros girls are all goals! I loved watching Jennifer Dorie as she’s only 22! But my idol is my coach! She’s in amazing shape and runs a family too and she’s understanding which makes her so easy to work with!
How was your last prep and how did you manage your diet? I found my last prep a lot easier than my first prep! My cardio was reduced and my carbs were upped and my body responded so much better!
How often do you practice your posing ? 4x a week. More closer to common
Your favourite bikini colour? Definitely my last red one from you Bikini BKB by Bikini Mama.
What is your next plans? A offseason for sure! I know what I need to work on!
Do you have any other hobbies outside work and gym? No, I do just enjoy the gym and competing and exercis classes!
Who you would like to say thank you or give a shout out? My coach: Zulmira Woodrow and all of the bikini fitness team! They’re all so supportive and incredible! They’re like a family!
What a massive improvements between shows this year. No comments needed. Well done Jordyn! xxx
