 Michelle Fredua-Mensah

Pure Elite Overall Pro `World Champion 
Incredibly talented, hardworking , ambitious and driven fitness icon and mum on UK scene. We all had the privilege to watch her amazing progress and transformation during 2019. It was breathtaking!  We can't wait to see her again on stage in 2020.

What is your occupation/work ?
Head/ Lead Gymnastics Coach and a London Region Gymnastics Judge

When did you start to compete and WHY?

Started 15 months ago, bodybuilding always fascinated me so I thought I will give it a try after a Fitness shoot and inspiring conversation with Matt Marsh a fitness photographer.

Have you done any other sports before?

Yes, Gymnastics.

What was the reaction of your friends and family when you decided to compete?

Good reaction and was told by all to go for it. Very lucky have a lot of support.

Do you remember your first time on stage?

Yes, that was 15 months ago. Amazing experience that lead to me competing again a week later.

What changed since?

Still competing and not stopping anytime soon.

I have changed categories. Went from competing in Bikini to Figure.

Which did you competition you enjoy the most and why?

Do I have to choose I have loved all the competitions I have done.

What was / is your biggest success on stage or in personal life ?

Biggest success is becoming Pure Elite Pro Overall World Champion.

What do you think girls should know before they will hit the competition stage?

Know the Rules and Criteria for the federation they are competing in.

Know what poses are acceptable and what they need to wear.

Who is your bikini or fitness idol?

Cydney Gillon

How was your last prep and how did you manage your diet?

My last prep was challenging but my coach prepared me well and was there whenever I needed her.

I was also prepared mentally and did a lot of mindset work that got me through it.

How often do you practice your posing ?

Everyday, I love posing.

Your favourite bikini colour? 

Lime Green

Would you recommend us as bikini designer and why?

Yes, will highly recommend. Every bikini I have worn made me feel amazing on stage. You can really see the care and attention to detail that went into every bikini I have worn. Also my personality and style was included in the design.

What is your next plans? 

To compete at Pure Elite Worlds on 2020 and defend my title.

Do you have any other hobbies outside work and gym? 

Yes, ballet, gymnastics and acrobatics.

Who you would like to say thank you or give a shout out? 

So many people but my mum, without her especially will not be able to compete.

Currently taking part in body building and became Pure Elite Overall Pro World Champion (November 2019), WUP Pro World Champion (May 2019), Overall Amateur World Champion (November 2018), UKUP British Champion (October 2018). Received a PRO status in both federations and representing GB next year on the World Circuit.

Member of Unity Allstars ‘Ruby’ cheerleading squad (2013 – 2015). Regularly took part in national/international competitions and won many titles. Competed in the 2015 World Championships and came 8th in the world in the All Girl Level 5 division.

Member of Ascension Eagles ‘Legacy’ cheerleading squad (2009 – 2011). Regularly took part in national competitions and won many titles. Cheered at charities, various sporting events and for Newham Council.

Member of London Rockets. Regularly participated in national competitions.
Member of Brunel University ‘Brunel Blizzards’ cheerleading squad (2008 – 2012). Regularly took part in national competitions. Cheered at sporting and charitable events held at Brunel University.

Competitive Women’s Artistic gymnast for eleven years. Took part in many regional and London Open competitions.

Competed in the 1999 British Open Team Gym Championships as part of the Croydon School of Gymnastics junior mixed team (silver medallists).

Took part in various other sports and dance activities including trampolining, sports acrobatics, athletics (200m sprint/long jump), swimming, diving, ice skating and ballet.
